Crisis Support
Please be aware that certain crisis line operators are obligated to notify law enforcement about calls related to suicide. If this raises any apprehensions, I recommend inquiring about their reporting procedures before divulging any information. If you or someone you know is in urgent danger, calling 911 is crucial. However, it's important to note that the police may not be the best equipped to provide mental health support and could potentially pose risks, especially for People of Color, Neurodivergent individuals, and Disabled people. If you are located in Missoula and would like a mental health professional to respond with law enforcement, you may request the Mobile Support Team. MST is able to assist law enforcement with mental health support.
